Right Brained or Left?

December 23rd, 2008 · No Comments

Too late! Your brain answered first. The dancer is turning clockwise or counter clockwise depending on  your brain’s inclination. This is one of those familiar ideas that continue to be repeated, long past their demonstrable validity. More than two decades after right-brain, left-brain thinking was discredited in scientific circles, these metaphors are still casually repeated in the media. Valid or not, it is interesting to think about why some see her turning one way, and others the other way.

Optoma Pico Projector

November 12th, 2008 · No Comments

This is one cool and tiny projector. The Pico Projector manages to squeeze a projector into your pocket. The projector can display an image or video from as close as eight inches to as far as 8.5 feet away. It’s brightest when close and bigger the further away the surface. At its furthest, the screen is an impressive 60 inches. The resolution is a little less than you might get with a full size projector but totally adequate for casual viewing of movies (480×320). The list price is just over $400 and the Pico is slated for global release early next year with limited release beforehand.

This Could Be Worth It

November 7th, 2008 · No Comments

This is an item that may be worth more sometime down the road. At least the newspaper has some cultural relevance in that it itself was used to distribute the news that history had been made. Unlike these coins which come off rather superfluous and garish. Collectors and their money are easily seperated I guess…
